It is even worse, BlackRock's subsidiaries buy the advertisement spaces of all the media outlets. So while control via shareholder meetings being a yearly or quarterly thing, is control from one side. They can manipulate content by rewarding shows or reporting by paying a lot for adds during those shows and punish or defund the creators of content they do not want you to see by withholding add incomes. Slow process maybe but over time by economic pressures driven very thorough self censorship starts to take root, while maintaining a certain distance so direct manipulation accusations will be very hard cases to make. This is not an unimportant element within the big picture. Its becoming more and more clear radical steps must be taken to break it all apart.

Haven't watched the video yet, but first thing I heard was a comparison of Blackrock's Asset Under Management vs countries GDP. Although it sounds interesting, it is not the most useful comparison, as you are comparing a balance sheet item vs a poduction item. Blackrock's AUM should be huge. Yet its net income or gains might not be. I work in a $2Bn AUM fund, our gains are obviously way smaller. A more relevant comparison would be Blackrock's revenue (or most probably its Net Income, considering it's a fund) vs countries GDP. In summary, first thing I heard is a comparison that's not very relevant and maybe too "alarmist"

Unfortunately... it will never... work, humanity has no way to put in the time it takes to make sure money doesn't go to fund evil. It will never happen. This means that the solution is to ban companies, make them illegal and throw those responsible in jail. THAT IS THE ONLY SOLUTION. And It requires you to throw out all the politicians and leaders and replace them with completely different and new people Which in turn requires that the majority of people demand that this happen. That's it, If no one votes in elections, the whole system will collapse and the leaders will be forced to resign. THEN... it will be possible to save the world - OTHERWISE, it will NOT...

not a bad thing if everything slows down: technology, birth rates, use of internet so that solar fields slow down. all the resources don’t have free energy. there a cost. the cost is large ecological issues and humans are a part of ecology in a giant way. this video is myopically only talking about economics. you might think there’s space for 50 billion ppl but it’s detrimental bc we use a lot of resources in destructive ways. energy has costs and all life pays just remember.
